THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam has raised concerns regarding a meeting between ADGP Ajith Kumar and senior RSS leader Dattatreya Hosabale. The ADGP had previously confirmed that he had met Hosabale, sparking curiosity among Keralites and the CPI over the nature of the discussion between the state's law and order in-charge and the RSS leader.
Viswam, while addressing the media, questioned the context of this meeting, especially in light of recent incidents like the disruption of the Thrissur Pooram festival. He stated that if reports regarding the meeting were accurate, it would be a matter of grave concern. He further clarified that the ruling LDF has no connection with the RSS and underscored the need for transparency in such matters.
According to an explanation provided by ADGP Ajith Kumar to the Chief Minister's office, the meeting was described as a "private visit." Kumar mentioned that he had attended on the invitation of a classmate and downplayed any official significance.
The meeting reportedly took place in May 2023, during an RSS camp held at Paramekkavu Vidya Mandir. A special branch report also indicated that the ADGP had arrived at the venue in a car belonging to the RSS leader. The timing and nature of the meeting have fueled further speculation, with many demanding a more detailed clarification.
