ANKARA: The Vistara flight, which was travelling from Mumbai to Frankfurt, made an emergency landing in the eastern region of Turkey. The company informed that the flight was diverted due to safety reasons. The company has not officially explained what the security issue is, but reports say the action was taken in response to a bomb threat.

The Boeing 787 aircraft is used for Vistara's service from Mumbai to Frankfurt. It is reported that the crew found a bomb threat message from one of the toilets in the plane. There was a security issue with the flight during the journey. A company spokesperson said that it was brought down at Erzurum airport in eastern Turkey after it was noticed by one of the employees.

The plane landed safely at 7.05 pm. Security agencies have been informed as per security norms. A Vistara spokesperson said they are fully cooperating with their mandatory inspections and that the safety of passengers; crew and the aircraft is their top priority. The company did not disclose other details.

After taking off from Mumbai and traveling for about five hours, the plane landed in Turkey. There was another three-and-a-half-hour drive to Frankfurt. After the plane landed in Turkey, all the passengers were released and checked. Special alert was given at Erzurum Airport after receiving an emergency message.
