THRISSUR: The body of a newborn baby was discovered inside a bag at the Thrissur railway station this morning. The discovery was made by security personnel on the station’s flyover at around 8:45 am.
The bag, found next to the lift on the flyover, was initially noticed by Shobha, an employee of the station, who opened it for inspection. Upon finding the lifeless body of the baby inside, the security personnel were immediately alerted. Authorities believe the baby was only a day old.
The police confirmed the baby's death before transferring the body to a nearby hospital for further examination. Thrissur East Police arrived at the scene shortly after the discovery and have launched a detailed investigation into the incident.
The newborn’s body was found in a small bag, which also contained spoons and other miscellaneous items. As of now, the identity of the person who abandoned the bag remains unknown. The police are continuing their efforts to uncover more details surrounding this tragic case.
