chadayan-govindan

KANNUR: Communist groups in cyberspace are highlighting the lives of Chadayan Govindan and his son Subhash Chandran, who marked a communist life that blended ideals and simplicity. Yesterday was Chadayan's 26th death anniversary.

Left cyber groups such as Red Army and Porali Shaji have criticized the leadership for deviating from the communist style by highlighting Subhash Chandran, son of Chadayan Govindan, who is making a living by running a small hotel following his father's suggestion that he should not go for the job he got in the party newspaper because Subhash got the consideration that he is the son of Chadayan Govindan.

The cyber groups shared the post with a picture of Subhash, son of former state secretary and Azhikode MLA Chadayan Govindan, making tea at Gayathri Hotel in Kambil. When Subhash got a job in the party newspaper when Chadayan was a party leader, there was controversy and protests. With this, he asked his son to quit his job. Later, Subhash worked as a labourer and ran a hotel with his friend. The Red Army said that all the children of those who protested then are heads in the party institutions and also reminded that there was once a communist called Chadayan.

'A large section of leaders are anxious today. For the sake of their children's future. They want to get their children to great heights somehow. There was a communist called Chadayan,' Porali Shaji reminded.

Subhash Chandran refused to respond to the remarks in the cyber groups.

"My father taught me how to live with poverty. I haven't been working at Gayatri Hotel for some time now. I have a supervisory job in the hotel sector in Chennai."
