KOCHI: The special investigation team investigating the sexual assault case against actor Nivin Pauly will conduct an investigation in Dubai. The investigation is based on the complaint lodged by a woman who alleged that Nivin Pauly and five others sexually assaulted her at a hotel in Dubai after offering her a role in a film.
Based on the statement given by the woman to the special investigation team in Thiruvananthapuram, a case was registered against six people, including Nivin Pauly, and an investigation was launched. Following this, Nivin Pauly filed a complaint with the DGP, stating that there was a conspiracy behind the allegations. He stated that he had never met the woman and was not in Dubai at the time of the alleged incident. The investigation team had sought legal advice after evidence emerged that Nivin Pauly was present in Kerala on the specific dates mentioned by the woman in her complaint.
The investigation team, which recorded the statements of the woman and her husband the other day, held a meeting in Kochi yesterday. During the meeting, it was decided that the team would travel to Dubai to complete further investigation procedures.
The first accused is a woman named Shreya, who runs a recruitment agency. The second to fifth accused are producer A.K. Sunil, Binu, Bashir, and Kuttan.
Meanwhile, the police have filed a case against 12 YouTubers for revealing the name and photo of the complainant. The action was taken based on the woman's complaint.
