PALAKKAD: CPM state secretary M V Govindan harshly criticized P K Sasi. Govindan said what Sasi did was something not suited for a comrade. He also clarified that Sasi is not being expelled from the party as he is a senior leader. Govindan turned against Sasi at the CPM Palakkad regional reporting.
Financial irregularities are not the only complaint against Sasi. The party was used only as a means of making money. There are leaders only if there is a party. Tried to implicate CPM district secretary in a sexual abuse case. A meeting was held with the media worker and fake documents were concocted for this. It was a vile act on the part of Sasi. The report also mentioned that the party has received evidence in this regard.
There are many allegations against Sasi. The main was the irregularities noticed in the construction fund of Mannarkkad Area Committee office. A committee led by CPM State Secretariat member Puthalath Dinesan had conducted an investigation and submitted a report in this regard. Shares were collected from CPM-ruled cooperative banks for the Mannarkkad cooperative college without the party's knowledge.
Allegations were also raised that close ones were appointed in CPM-ruled institutions. The CPM had also appointed a commission to investigate the matter. Allegations were also raised against Sasi that he did not cooperate enough when M B Rajesh contested in Palakkad Lok Sabha constituency in 2019.
CPM district secretariat member and Shornur MLA P K Sasi was earlier suspended from primary membership of the party after a female DYFI worker lodged a harassment complaint against him. He was reinstated to the CPM secretariat two years later but later demoted to the district committee on grounds of factionalism. He was denied a seat in Shornur in the 2021 assembly elections. This was replaced by giving him the post of KTDC chairman.
