KOCHI: A neighbor hacked a dairy farmer’s cow to death at Mulanthuruthy in Ernakulam. The police have arrested the accused P V Raju of Edakkattuvayal. He hacked the cows owned by P K Manoj of Edakkattuvayal Pallikka Nirappel. One cow’s back and one’s neck were hacked with an axe. One of the cows injured died later. When Manoj’s wife tried to prevent him from attacking the cows, she was also hacked and she sustained injuries on her hands.

Raju’s enmity towards Manoj made him commit the crime. The cow died was four months pregnant. Raju had earlier raised a complaint against Manoj as he was unable to bear the dirty water from the cowshed flowing to his house. This is suspected to be the reason for the attack.
