KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has restricted videography in the nadapandal of the Guruvayur Temple. The court ruled that videography should not be allowed on nadapandal except for religious functions and weddings. Vloggers accompanied by celebrities have also been restricted. The court has also clarified that their videography should not be allowed.
The high court said the temple nadapandal is not a place to cut the birthday cake. This crucial order of the court is in connection with the plea related to the cutting of cake as part of birthday celebrations of painter Jasna Salim, a devotee of Lord Krishna, in the temple premises.
Jasna Salim got noticed for her acrylic paintings of Lord Krishna. She presented a picture of Lord Krishna to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, when he visited Guruvayur last. She paints pictures with fabric paint on acrylic sheets. She presented 101 pictures of Lord Krishna in various sizes to Guruvayur Temple last year.
Jasna Salim had earlier alleged that her family is not able to get out of the house following cyber-attacks. She raised a complaint against BJP leader Sobha Surendran, Congress leader T Siddique and Roshan, an online journalist.
Cutting a cake in the nadapandal of the temple had sparked a controversy. Many came forward against this.
