THRIPRAYAR: Two youths died and one seriously injured after a scooter collided with a container lorry on National Highway 66 on Thursday. Ashirvad (18), son of Ramadas, and Hashim, 18, son of Sagir, died in the accident. Both of the victims are natives of Valapad.
Salim's son Nihan (19), who was on the bike has been admitted to a private hospital in Thrissur with serious injuries. The incident took place at around 2.30 am on Thursday near VB Mall in Thriprayar.
The three were returning home after watching a movie from the mall. After drinking tea from a shop on the west side of Thriprayar Temple, the trio headed towards their homes on a scooter. A container lorry carrying gypsum board came from nowhere and rammed into the scooter. The lorry was headed towards Taliparamba in Kannur. Ashirvad and Hashim died on the spot.
