KOCHI: More information surface in connection with the death of Anna Sebastian of Ernakulam and a chartered accountant of Ernst &Young (EY). She collapsed and died due to work stress. An email of Nazeera Kasi, an employee, sent to company chairman, has put the company on the defensive.


Her mail sent to company chairman stated that work pressure is a regular incident in the company. The mail also said that if a complaint is made before the internal committee, retaliatory action will be taken. Nazira sent the mail in response to the chairman's message sent to the employees over Anna's death.


Anna's father said that mental stress was common in the company and six had resigned due to work pressure. While talking to the media, he said the complaint sent to the company by Anna's mother was leaked by the company itself. Her father added that they had not showed the letter to anyone else.


Anna died of cardiac arrest. Her friend said that Anna had collapsed earlier also due to work stress. She told a media that Anna had worked for an average of sixteen hours daily and had obtained only three days leave in four months.


She got only five minutes to have food. Her friend said that she couldn’t even sleep and her situation was very bad. Her friend added that Anna was thinking of shifting her job to Kochi.
