SHIRUR: The search for Arjun of Kozhikode, who went missing in the landslide on the national highway in Karnataka, will begin today. A dredger to find the lorry believed to be in the Gangavali River is being brought. Arjun's relative Jithin told a media that the search with dredgers is expected to start by noon.
'What happened to such a big vehicle? We firmly believe that Arjun is in it. The landslide happened when Arjun was sleeping. His family believe that Arjun will be inside the cabin,’ Jithin said.
The North Kannada district administration had earlier held a meeting to assess the rescue operation. In the meeting attended by district collector Lakshmi Priya, SP M Narayana, MLA Satish Sale and dredger company officials, it was decided to conduct a search with a dredger during low tide in Gangavalipuzha. The boat with the dredger left Goa for Shirur on September 17.
Arjun of Kannadikkal in Kozhikode went missing in the landslide in Karnataka on July 16. Two months after the youth went missing, the search continues inconclusively. The family is waiting with hope that Arjun will be found in the search led by dredger.
