When it comes to whisky, McDowell is at the forefront in India. McDowell has remained at the top of the list for the past five years. While McDowell sold 30.8 million cases in 2022, it rose to 31.4 million in 2023. The increase is 2.1 percent. McDowell has three million cases more sales than the nearest brand. The reason for this love for McDowell is the price. In Delhi, the price of 750 ml is Rs 400. In Mumbai, it is Rs 640.

The second brand is the Royal Stag. In 2022, 27.1 million cases were sold, which increased to 27.9 million in 2023. The whisky brand has grown by more than 24 per cent in two years. Royal Stag is produced by Pernod Ricard.

Officers' Choice is the third most preferred whisky brand. However, their sales were slightly lower in 2023 compared to 2022. While 24.9 million cases were sold in 2022, it declined to 23.4 million in 2023. There is no change in sales for the top three brands in general.
