THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government has taken action against a police officer of the Kerala Police Headquarters for providing information related to the Thrissur Pooram disruption controversy. MS Santhosh, the State Public Information Officer at Police Headquarters and also the DySP of the NRI Cell, has been suspended pending investigation. It was Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan who gave direction to take disciplinary action against Santhosh and suspend him pending investigation.
Meanwhile, CPI Minister K Rajan and CPI leader VS Sunil Kumar have expressed shock and protest over the news report which claimed that no investigation had taken place so far into the Thrissur Pooram disruption controversy. Their response came after a channel reported that the police headquarters confirmed no investigation had taken place so far.
Sunil Kumar, who was the LDF candidate in Thrissur Lok Sabha seat, said he will submit RTI applications to the Chief Secretary and DGP to uncover those behind the Thrissur Pooram disruption controversy.
"If there is any further delay in providing the reply, I will openly reveal the facts I know to the public. There was a conspiratorial plot with a political motive," Sunil Kumar said.
