THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the media was creating fake news against the government in connection with the disaster management calculation in Wayanad. The Chief Minister criticized that it was presented to a large number of people that Kerala tried to extort financial assistance by exaggerating the figures. Due to this, the people of Kerala have been humiliated in front of the world, the Chief Minister said in a press conference. The chief minister also explained the figure that the government has spent on relief so far. The chief minister also criticized that behind the current fake news is destroying the support the government was getting.
The fake news was created by interpreting the memorandum submitted by the state to the central government as an estimate of expenditure. The ulterior motive was to defame the state government by any means. Those responsible for this have harmed those affected by the disaster. Memorandums are prepared by trained professionals, not ministers. There are nationally accepted methods for its preparation. Each estimate is prepared by evaluating several possibilities. The Chief Minister criticized that the information prepared in such a manner was accused of being fake.
