The incident happened on Friday at 1.30 pm at the restaurant in front of the village office in Vellanad Kulakode. Three days ago, Vellanad Sasi demanded that the board placed in front of the hotel be changed as it was causing traffic obstruction.

Sasi on Friday reached the restaurant to discuss the matter again. Howber rage filled him seeing Arun’s son filming the talk on the phone. Sasi allegedly attacked the child and in the melee, it was complained that Geeta suffered injuries on her chest.

Aryanad CI Ajeesh said a case has been registered on the complaint of the family who sought treatment at the Vellanad hospital. The family said they would file a complaint on Child Line as well.

In his explanation, Vellanad Sasi said he had requested to change the board placed in front of Arun's hotel which was causing trouble to people.

“I reached the hotel yesterday to demand them to take down the board. I indeed got raged over the child filming the talks. I shooed the phone away from his hands but never attacked the child. As a representative of the people, I have only requested to remove the board in front of the shop.” Vellanad Sasi said a complaint would be filed against the shop owner who shouted abuse.

Meanwhile, congress alleged the attack to be revenge for the restaurant owner not giving funds to Sasi during the elections.
