DOHA: Qatar Airways has issued a new directive for air passengers. The airline company has prohibited passengers from carrying pagers and walkie-talkies in their baggage, citing security concerns. This decision comes in the wake of a recent pager bomb incident in Lebanon. The new directive specifically applies to passengers travelling from Beirut's Rafic Hariri International Airport.

Qatar Airways has announced that items such as pagers and walkie-talkies will not be allowed in passengers' possession, hand luggage, or cargo. The airline stated that this ban will remain in place until further notice. Qatar Airways said the ban was imposed on the directives of Lebanon's Directorate General of Civil Aviation. The airline made this announcement through its official X page. Recently, several people were killed in Lebanon due to the explosion of walkie-talkies and pagers.

Meanwhile, international agencies are investigating the role of Malayali Rinson Jose (39) in the recent Pager bomb blasts orchestrated by Israel in Lebanon. Rinson Jose, a native of Ondayangadi in Mananthavady, is a Norwegian citizen. Rinson Jose and his family reside in Oslo, the capital of Norway. However, his whereabouts have been unknown since the bombing series began on the 17th. While some reports suggest that he may have gone into hiding, others claim he is on a business trip to the United States.

Agencies from Norway, Bulgaria, and Hungary are conducting investigations into Rinson Jose's company, Norta Global Limited. There is suspicion about the company's involvement in the pager supply chain. Reports suggest that financial transactions for the pagers were conducted through the company.
