NEW DELHI: Another attempt to blow up a train at Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. The incident happened on the railway track in Kanpur Dehat district. A gas cylinder was found near Prempur railway station on the Delhi-Howrah railway line. RPF and police reached the spot and started investigation into the incident.
A loco pilot of an express train saw the gas cylinder lying on the next track. He then informed the control room. After that, the control room was giving a notice to stop the goods train that was coming through. With this, a major tragedy was averted.
‘'The gas cylinder was found lying on the rail track at 5.50 am today. Railway team inspected the track. A five-liter empty cylinder was found. "An order has been given to investigate the incident," said the North Central Railway CPRO.
There was a similar incident on August 8. Around 8.30 pm, the Kalindi Express train hit a gas cylinder on the track and blew it. Kalindi Express was traveling from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh to Bhiwani in Haryana. The gas cylinder was located on the railway track passing through Munderi village between Barrajpur and Billhouse on the Kanpur-Kasganj route. It is reported that such attempts are being made to derail the train.
On August 9, a 70 kg cement block was found on the railway track in Rajasthan. The loco pilot had tried to stop the train after spotting a block of cement on the track. However, the train ran over the block and stopped. The incident happened at Ajmer in Rajasthan. There are continuous attempts to sabotage trains in the country. The incidents are being investigated.
