BENGALURU: Arjun’s sister, Anju, has called for a controversy-free and life-safe approach to the ongoing search for her missing brother and two others in Shirur. In a statement to the media, Anju emphasized the importance of ensuring that no lives are put at risk, particularly referencing the safety of local diver Ishwar Malpe, who recently returned from the search site.

Malpe, who had been assisting in the search, reported that operations were being halted due to a lack of cooperation from police and administrative authorities. He expressed frustration over the challenges faced in locating the missing persons, including Arjun and voiced concerns about the termination of the search.

Anju, while expressing gratitude to the district administration and the local MLA for their support, underscored the need for continued and coordinated efforts. "Dredging should not be stopped for any reason. The search should be precise and focused on the locations marked by the Navy," she said, urging authorities to optimize available resources and ensure a comprehensive search.

She also cautioned against wasting time on unnecessary efforts, such as retrieving metal debris from landslide-affected areas. "There are many metal objects in these areas, so time should not be wasted on picking them up. A thorough search is needed, not just for Arjun but for the two other missing persons as well."

Anju reiterated that the family's primary goal is to locate Arjun's truck as soon as possible. She stressed that there is no desire for any controversy and that the district administration has already prepared a system for the search. "A well-coordinated search is necessary now. We don't want any more dangerous searches like Malpe's. It's time to use the available systems properly," she added.
