BEIRUT: Israel has launched a massive aerial attack on Lebanon, killing over 100 people and injuring more than 400, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry. This attack comes after a series of pager and Walkie-Talkie explosions last week. According to reports, Israel's aerial assault on Lebanese villages and cities began early Thursday morning, targeting over 300 Hezbollah centres. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that they have received permission to carry out more attacks in Lebanon.
Meanwhile, BBC reported that residents of southern Lebanon have received text and voice messages urging them to leave areas near buildings used by Hezbollah. The messages warned villagers under Hezbollah control to relocate for their own safety.
Amidst the airstrikes, Lebanon's Health Ministry has ordered all hospitals in southern Lebanon to suspend non-emergency surgeries due to the ongoing conflict in the region. Hundreds of injured individuals have been seeking treatment at hospitals in the region since the airstrikes that began on Monday morning. Following the attacks, schools in southern Lebanon and Beirut have been closed for two days.
