THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Madhu sir looked up after eating rice with dal and sambar from the leaf. Immediately his daughter Uma served him Ada Pradhaman. Then kadala payasam, semiya and Ambalappuzha paal payasam. He ate some more rice with rasam and pulissery. He drank one cup of mooru and folded the leaf. "I don't usually eat this much. I got no diabetes, so there's no need to skip sweets." Actor Madhu commented after the sadya of his 91st birthday.

It was around 3 pm when Madhu had sadhya with his grandson Vishak and his wife Varsha. Vishak was busy with work. "When everyone works for a living, he lives for the sake of working," everyone laughed hearing Madhu's dialogue.

Dr. Jayadevan Nair, who worked as an assistant in Madhu's early films, came to wish him on his birthday. Jayadevan said, "I am 81 now. 'You don't look that old,' Madhu replied. Madhu woke up earlier than usual at 12 noon today. By then, many people had come to his house in Kannammoola to greet him. After a while, Madhu got a call from Mohanlal on the phone. By the time Madhu hung up the phone thanking him for the good wishes, he received a call from Mammootty. Madhu's sisters Vijayalakshmi, Rajalakshmi and other relatives had also reached the house.

Gold ring for Suresh Gopi

Around 1 pm, Union Minister Suresh Gopi and his wife Radhika arrived and put a mundu with a kasavu border on Madhu's shoulder. Madhu presented a gold ring to Suresh Gopi. Madhu smiled and gave his nod to Suresh Gopi's wish that he would host a birthday party on October 5, which falls on Madhu' birthstar day.

Madhu to Kerala Kaumudi

If I get the right role, I will act again. If I take a risk for it, it has to pay off.
