NEW YORK: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the success of humanity does not lie in the battlefield but in our collective strength. He was speaking at the United Nations General Assembly's 'Summit of the Future' event in New York yesterday.
"I wish to raise the voice of one-sixth of humanity on this platform. We have lifted 250 million people out of hunger in India. We have demonstrated that sustainable development can be achieved successfully. We are ready to take this success to the Global South. Reforms in international organizations are important for global peace and development," Modi said.
"On one hand, terrorism continues to pose a grave threat to global peace and security. On the other hand, cyber security, oceans, and space are emerging as new arenas of conflict. In all these areas, global actions must align with global aspirations. Safe and responsible use of technology requires equity and regulation. We aspire for global digital governance that respects and does not compromise national sovereignty and integrity," he added.
