NEW DELHI: In its verdict against those watching videos of children being sexually abused, the Supreme Court also pointed to issues on which children need to be made aware. Children should be taught the nature of healthy relationships, age limit and permission to have sex, proper behaviours and touches, and how to understand and withdraw from exploitation. For this, sex education should be provided at the school level. The central government should form an expert committee to prepare the plan. There is an argument that it is a Western idea and cannot be implemented in Indian conditions. This general perception is an obstacle to the availability of the right information to the youth. The court also said that they are now getting misleading information circulating on the internet.
