KOCHI: The Kerala High Court rejected the anticipatory bail plea of actor Siddique in the sexual abuse complaint lodged by an actress. He is likely to be arrested in the case. The investigation team had received more strong evidence and testimony against the actor. The investigation team also informed the court that the allegations and statements raised by the actress are validated.
The order was passed by a single bench headed by Justice C S Dias. The court had earlier heard the case on the anticipatory bail plea but had postponed pronouncing the verdict. Senior advocate B Raman Pillai who appeared for the petitioner argued that the complainant had not raised the rape before and the complaint was baseless. It is alleged that the incident happened in 2012. Siddiqui's allegation was that the complainant had raised a carefully prepared story.
However, Additional Public Prosecutor P Narayanan, appearing for the government, argued in the court that Siddique was hiding many facts and there was evidence that the two had reached the Mascot Hotel.
The investigation team confirmed that the statement of the actress that she came to the hotel with her parents and friends to meet Siddique after the movie preview was true. On January 27 in 2016, at 12 midnight, Siddique took room number 101D at the Mascot Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram and returned the next day at 5 pm. Hotel records have been collected. This includes the bill for Siddique's rice, fish curry and curd. Food was clearly mentioned in the statement of the actress.
The girl told her friend about the harassment after a year. This friend gave a positive statement to the police. The actress sought treatment from two female psychiatrists in Kochi due to mental stress. Both of them confirmed this to the police.

According to Section 376, rape is punishable with imprisonment for a term not less than ten years and which may extend to life and fine.
