mukesh-arrest

KOCHI: Actor and Kollam MLA Mukesh, who was arrested on the sexual assault complaint filed by an actress, has been released after questioning. The actor was released after a three-hour questioning session on the back of an anticipatory bail he had secured from an Ernakulam court earlier this month. The actor was subjected to a potency test before being released.

Mukesh was arrested by the police earlier today after he appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Kochi for questioning in the sexual assault case. Mukesh appeared before the SIT along with his lawyer. The Ernakulam Sessions Court had earlier granted him bail in the sexual assault case. Two police stations, Wadakkanchery and Maradu, have registered cases against Mukesh following allegations of sexual harassment. In her complaint, the complainant alleged that she was sexually assaulted by 7 persons, including Mukesh, Maniyanpilla Raju and Advocate Chandrashekhar. The actress claimed that the incident occurred in 2009.

The case against Mukesh was registered on August 28. The actress alleged that Mukesh sexually assaulted her after taking her to a villa in Maradu and later attempted to assault her again in a car at a shooting location in Ottapalam.

Mukesh's lawyer, Advocate Jio Paul, stated that Mukesh responded to all questions from the investigation team and handed over details provided in court.
