LUCKNOW: It is reported that a six-year-old girl was rescued from rape by a group of monkeys in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat. The incident took place on Saturday, September 21. The accused lured the girl who was playing outside the house and took her to an isolated house and tried to rape her. Meanwhile, a group of monkeys came and rescued the child. The father told the media that his daughter escaped because violent monkeys chased away the accused and created a ruckus. He also said that the accused had threatened to kill him.

Though the CCTV footage of the accused has been obtained, he is yet to be identified. Following the incident, the victim's parents lodged a complaint with the nearby police station. The police are in the process of identifying the accused and arresting him. An FIR has been registered under BNS sections 74 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 76 (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe) and the Pocso Act.
