ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has faced severe criticism following an embarrassing defeat in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, which resulted in a clean sweep by the latter. Fans and former players alike have expressed their disappointment and now former wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal has also weighed in with strong remarks.
In a recent YouTube video, Akmal attributed the decline of Pakistan cricket to the arrogance of certain individuals within the PCB. He emphasized that the board’s approach is the root of the team’s struggles, calling for Pakistan to take cues from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). According to Akmal, the professionalism in team selection, coaching and leadership seen in Indian cricket is a key factor in India’s success, something Pakistan should aspire to emulate. He further argued that the PCB’s internal politics and egos are hindering progress.
Akmal's comments have sparked debate among fans, with some supporting his stance while others remain critical. The Pakistan team now faces mounting pressure, especially with an upcoming Test series in England next month, which is expected to be a significant challenge for both the players and the PCB.
Additionally, former cricketer Basit Ali has also voiced his discontent, offering strong criticism of the board, adding to the growing chorus of disapproval surrounding Pakistan cricket's recent performances.
