THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM State Secretary MV Govindan has criticized the media for the controversies regarding the figures in the memorandum given to the Centre by the state government regarding the Wayanad disaster. In the press conference, he accused the media of spreading fake news by showing the figures given by demanding 219 crores while following the norms where 2200 crores of reconstruction works are required. Behind the fake propaganda is the conscious agenda of the media.
The main objective is to discourage people from contributing to the relief fund. If the relief fund is interrupted, the medical expenses of the common people will stop. Through the news, some people aimed not to get central assistance. Even though the government issued a press release showing the reality, the media did not take it seriously and publish it.
The governor was also accused of making deliberate efforts to impose RSS ideas in the universities.
