BENGALURU: The main accused in the Mahalakshmi murder case was found dead on Thursday. Muktirajan Roy, wanted by the police for the past few days in the Mahalakshmi murder case, was found to have committed suicide in Odisha. The preliminary conclusion is that he died by hanging from a tree. A suicide note was also found in which he confessed to the horror murder.
Odisha Police has registered a case of unnatural death in the incident.
A few days ago, Mahalakshmi's body was found cut into 50 pieces and kept in a fridge in a rented house in Vinayaka Nagar, Vyalikaval, Bengaluru. From the beginning, the investigation focused on Muktirajan. Mahalakshmi was working as a saleswoman in a mall. Muktirajan was Mahalakshmi's friend since 2023.
Recently, Mahalakshmi ended her six years of marriage and started living alone in Bengaluru. It was during this phase that she came close with Muktirajan. Mahalakshmi's relatives were informed about some suspicion by neighbours after a foul smell emanated from her room some days back. The dead body was found during the inspection.
