MALAPPURAM: Nilambur MLA PV Anvar has come out with a reply to CPM state secretary MV Govindan. Addressing a press conference, Anvar said that he has not tried to weaken the CPM and it is the police who are trying to do so. Anvar also responded to his statement that he is free to say anything to the chief minister.
"It is written in the party's constitution that there is freedom to do so. However, that doesn't happen. MV Govindan can only say as such. It was in practice during the time of EMS, AKG and Nayanar. The real comrades are convinced. I will burn like a torch for the issue of the people. There are plans to form a new organization. If the people are with me, I will form a new party," Anvar said.
Earlier, MV Govindan had criticized Anvar in harsh language. He said Anvar has become an axe in the hands of the right wing and the people and comrades who love the party should come forward. MV Govindan added that if one looks at Anvar's stance and political approaches, it will be clear that he does not have much understanding of the communist party's system. He said this at a press conference held at Kerala House in Delhi.
Chief Minister and the CPM have not faced such a severe blow recently. The party is working very hard to counter what PV Anvar called out at the press conference. Whatever the credibility of Anvar's allegations, there is no doubt that it will raise a lot of questions in the public domain. The party leadership was in a state of shock at first when the chief minister and the home department were attacked yesterday.
