ANKOLA (UTTARA KANNADA): The mortal remains of Arjun, which were recovered from a lorry at Gangavali river in Shirur, will be brought to his house in Kozhikode at 6 am on Saturday.

Arjun's body parts were handed over to his relatives from the mortuary of Karwar KIMS Hospital after 7 pm today after his DNA was confirmed. His brother Abhijith and sister-in-law Jithin received the body. Arjun's remains were loaded in a specially prepared ambulance and to be returned to his native place.

Arjun's son's toy lorry, Arjun's watch, footwear, phones, pressure cooker, steel utensils, documents and bag, which were found in the cabin of the lorry, were loaded into the ambulance today evening itself.

Karwar police escorted the ambulance. Kerala Police also accompanied the ambulance from the border. Karwar MLA Satish Krishna Sail, who led the search from beginning to end, also left with the ambulance. Manjeswaram MLA AKM Ashraf is also with them. The Karwar district administration had directed that last rites on the route should be avoided as it is night. Manaf, the owner of the lorry, had left for Arjun's home. The Kerala government will bear all the expenses of the ambulance arranged by the Karwar district administration.

Karnataka to provide five lakh

The Karnataka government will provide five lakh to Arjun's family. MLA Satheesh Krishna SAIL is coming to hand over this amount to Arjun's mother. It is learnt that he will return only after the funeral.
