NEW DELHI/ MALAPPURAM: CPM has appealed to the people and party workers to come forward against PV Anvar MLA who publicly insulted the Chief Minister. On Friday, CPM state secretary MV Govinday announced that Anvar has no relation with the party. Meanwhile, Anvar challenged the party, saying he would speak out about various things, and nobody can intimidate him. He also stated that the CPM is a sinking ship. He added he would approach the High Court on Monday to seek a probe into the police's role in gold smuggling.

Hours after Anvar lashed out at the Chief Minister and the CPM, CPM activists in Malappuram raised threatening slogans against the MLA. The threatening slogan was - 'If MV Govindan snaps his fingers, Anvar's hands and legs will be cut off and thrown into the river.' Tensions ran high as the Anvar-Pinarayi conflict boiled over yesterday.

On Friday morning, the Chief Minister met the media in Delhi and rejected the allegations raised by Anvar. He also criticised him for teaming up with LDF's enemies. Govindan addressed the media at 2.30 pm. Both are in Delhi for CPM leadership meetings. Govindan called the press conference after meeting the Chief Minister at Kerala House. On the other hand, Anvar fired back with counter-attacks to every criticism levelled by the duo.
