NEW DELHI: A Supreme Court bench, comprising a woman judge, will consider the anticipatory bail plea filed by actor Siddique in the sexual assault case on Monday. Siddique's case is the 62nd case in the two-member bench comprising Justice Bela M. Trivedi and Justice Satish Chandra Sharma. Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi will appear for Siddique, while former Solicitor General Ranjit Kumar will represent the state government, and senior advocate Vrinda Grover will appear for the survivor.

Siddique's arguments include that although the alleged harassment is said to have occurred in 2016, the FIR was registered only in 2024, eight years later. He also questions the credibility of the witnesses. The state government will strongly oppose the bail plea. If necessary, it will submit the evidence gathered against Siddique to the Supreme Court.
