THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department on Saturday warned of a possibility of widespread rain in the state for a week. Heavy rain is also possible in isolated places. A yellow alert has been issued in six districts today considering the intensity of rain.

YELLOW ALERT: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts on Saturday.

Seven districts will be on yellow alert tomorrow and the day after. Fishing is prohibited from Sunday due to the possibility of rough seas and high waves along the Kerala coast.

Thunderstorms are dangerous. They cause great damage to human and animal life, electrical and communication networks and appliances connected to electrical conductors.
