NEW DELHI: A complaint has been lodged that a cockroach was found inside an omelette served on an Air India flight. The passenger wrote on her X-page that she had this bad experience while travelling from Delhi to New York. She also shared pictures and videos of the omelette. They boarded the flight on September 17.

"Found a cockroach in the omelette served to me on the Air India flight from Delhi to New York. My 2 year old finished more than half of it with me when we found this. Suffered from food poisoning as a result.

After the incident went viral on social media, Air India came up with a response. "We are aware of a social media post by a passenger regarding a foreign object in the onboard meal offered to them on AI 101 operating from DEL to JFK on 17 September 2024," an Air India spokesperson said in a statement. He also said that necessary steps will be taken to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future and has asked the concerned catering service provider to conduct further investigation into the matter
