GHAZIABAD: A 10-year-old boy was allegedly beaten to death by his father after accusing him of stealing Rs 500 kept at home. The incident took place in Tyodhi village, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Police have taken the boy's father and stepmother into custody.

10-year-old Aad lived with his father Naushad and stepmother Rasiya. Neighbours alleged that the couple frequently subjected Aad to unnecessary physical abuse. On Saturday morning, Naushad and Rasiya brutally assaulted Aad accusing the boy of stealing Rs 500 they had kept at home. According to the police, Naushad used a metal pipe, typically used to ignite coal stoves, to beat the child. The cause of death was severe head injuries inflicted by the brutal beating.

Ghaziabad Assistant Police Commissioner Gyan Prakash Rai stated that the case was registered based on a complaint filed by Aad's relatives. He added that further investigation into the incident is underway.
