THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that rains will intensify again in the state. Yellow alert has been issued in seven districts today. Fishing has been banned on Kerala-Lakshadweep coast today and tomorrow.
Yellow alert has been issued in Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur. A chance of isolated heavy rain has been predicted. Heavy rains mean rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours.
The IMD has informed that there is a possibility of rain at isolated places in Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod in the next three hours. According to the National Center for Oceanography and Research, there is a possibility of high waves of 0.9 to 1.0 meters and Kallakadal phenomenon along Kerala coast till 11.30 pm tomorrow.
The IMD has informed that from today to October 2 there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in Kerala and strong winds with a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour.
