KOCHI: Relatives alleged that the friends of actor Siddique's son have been taken into police custody. Siddique is on the run in a sexual abuse case. It is alleged that Nahi and Paul of Kochi and friends of Siddique's son Shaheen have been detained by the police. The relatives said the police reached their homes Sunday early morning between 4.15 and 5.15 and took them into custody.

However, the Kochi police said that they have not taken anyone into custody. Relatives said the police team came in search of Paul and Nahi in the morning asking where Siddique was. The relatives filed a complaint with the Kochi City Police Commissioner against the detention that took place in the morning without following the procedures. The relatives said there is no information about them.

Meantime, the government filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court mentioning that actor Siddique is challenging law. The government told the Supreme Court that despite the high court rejecting the anticipatory bail, he is hiding in the shadow of the elites without approving norms. This will be informed to the court on Monday when Siddique's bail application is being considered.

Police said Siddique is under the protection of the elite and the evidence obtained in this regard will be produced in the court. Look-out notices and advertisements that came in newspapers of other states will be produced. SP Merin Joseph and her team have gone to Delhi on behalf of the special investigation team.
