KOZHIKODE: Two boys were swept away by the current while bathing in the river in Kuttyadi. The victims, identified as Rizwan (13) and Sinan (14), were both 10th-grade students from Parakkadavu. Local residents, aware of the unfolding tragedy, attempted to rescue the boys but were unable to save them. Their bodies have since been recovered and taken to EMS Hospital in Perambra.

In a separate incident, two students who went missing from Pooyapally in Kollam were found dead in Sasthamkotta Lake. The deceased, Devananda and Shebin Shah (17), both natives of Puyapally Mylode, did not return home after school, prompting their parents to file a missing persons report with the Pooyapally police. The bodies were found during a search operation conducted by local authorities.
