THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPM and the government have started plans to get the better of MLA P V Anvar, who publicly challenged the Chief Minister and severed all ties with the party and the Left Front.

A case has been registered against MLA Anvar under the non-bailable section on a complaint received three weeks ago on charges of phone tapping. Kerala’s political arena was abuzz with excitement over Anvar’s public rally in Nilambur on Sunday, which was attended by thousands.

With Anvar trying to woo certain factions of CPM to join him and CPM trying their best to prevent party defections, the situation is expected to worsen between the Nilambur MLA and the party in the coming days.

It was clear that Anvar could be implicated in a police case at any moment after the MLA fired shots at CM saying that he was incapable of leading the home department.

In the FIR it states that Anvar tried to create a riot by hacking the phones of top officials and spreading it through the media. The police hastily registered a case on Saturday night on the complaint lodged by a former Congress worker in Karukachal, Kottayam on the 5th of September.

The police have charged Anvar with a crime punishable by up to life imprisonment for illegally hacking and leaking the phone information of high-ranking officials in a way that could affect public security. Discerning the current political climate, an arrest seems likely.
