KOCHI: Monson Mavunkal acquitted in POCSO case of helping his manager Joshi to molest the victim. Monson, the second accused in the case, was acquitted by the Perumbavoor fast track POCSO court. The court found Monson not guilty and found Joshi, the first accused in the case, guilty. It is reported that the judgment of the case will come out at 1 pm today.
This judgment came in the second case against Monson Mavunkal. The incident related to the case took place in 2019. The court verdict is in the case of Joshi molesting the 17-year-old daughter of the housekeeper. Monson was charged with knowingly concealing the crime.
Meanwhile, the Ernakulam POCSO court in June last year found Monson Mavunkal guilty of molesting the 17-year-old girl. The court had clarified that the sections including POCSO will remain and all the charges have been cleared. The trial related to the case started in 2022.
The first rape took place in Monson's home in 2019. Later, the girl was molested several times even after she became an adult. There were 27 witnesses in the case. At the same time, Monson claimed that the police threatened the workers to lodge a complaint against him to deliberately trap him. However, the abused girl and her family remained steadfast in their complaint.
