BEIRUT: Just a day after Israel kickstarted the ground war in Lebanon, Iran responded with missile attacks on the Zionist nation. The attack took place in the capital, Tel Aviv on Tuesday night.
It is reported that many people have been killed. Indians in Israel have been advised to shift to safer places. Iran's Revolutionary Guards confirmed that more than 250 missiles were fired. Iran in a statement asked Israel to refrain from further malevolence or face a crushing response.
Iran has reportedly fired more than 500 missiles. Many people including civilians are reportedly killed in the attack. The IDF said people were moved to bomb shelters. Sirens are sounding throughout Israel. International media reported, citing eyewitnesses, that warning sirens were heard from Tel Aviv amid an explosion from Jerusalem.
Following the incident, US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris held an emergency meeting at the White House. The US had earlier warned about Iran preparing to launch a ballistic missile attack against Israel. Following this, people were shifted to bunkers.
The US disclosure followed Israel's statement that it was preparing to intensify attacks against Hezbollah on the ground in Lebanon. The restrictions were announced to Israel natives after the military entered Lebanon for operations targeting Hezbollah.
Meanwhile, eight people were killed in an attack by gunmen in the city of Jaffa, Israel. The assailants have not been identified. CCTV footage of two gunmen firing in the vicinity of the railway station has emerged. Israel has launched a ground war following widespread airstrikes on Hezbollah bases throughout Lebanon. On Monday midnight, the ground forces, including tanks, entered several villages along the Israeli border in southern Lebanon.
Hezbollah on Tuesday fired new Fadi 4 missiles at the headquarters of Israel's spy agency Mossad in Tel Aviv. Hezbollah also fired missiles at the headquarters of the Israeli army's 8,200 intelligence units in the Tel Aviv suburb of Glilot.
Turkey has warned that the ground attack is a violation of Lebanon's sovereignty and that the Israeli army must immediately stop the attack and withdraw.
