THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Many audience and fans of the Soorya festival had to battle the heat in a disappointing opening day. The air conditioning in the Tagore Theater went defunct while the lights on the stage failed to work, resulting in a below-par experience for the audience.
Following this, the organizers informed that the programs to be held here in the coming days have been shifted to other venues. Shobhana, Navya Nair, Asha Sarath, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy and other stars were to perform in this same venue.
The programs up to October 6th have been shifted to Thycaud Ganesham while Shobhana's dance scheduled to be held on the 7th has been shifted to AKG Centre. Other venues have not been announced. PRD is in charge of Tagore Theatre. It is reported that the government requested Soorya festival to be conducted in the Tagore theatre.
The unbearable heat in the auditorium even made the organizers bring in air coolers, but it proved to be of no use. Soorya members are still worried about the venue being shifted to Ganesham, which has a limited seat capacity. Even in the spacious Tagore theatre, many members had to sit on the floor and bring in extra chairs to watch the event.
