KOZHIKODE: Manaf, the owner of the lorry involved in the landslide in Shirur, will attend a public event today after Arjun’s family raised serious allegations against him. He will be attending a reception organised in a school at Mukkam in Kozhikode at 10 am today. The family alleged that Manaf collected funds in the name of Arjun and that he tried to increase subscribers for his YouTube channel through sympathy. Manaf is expected to respond to everything today.

Arjun's family came forward against Manaf and diving expert Eshwar Malpe at the press meet convened at their home in Kozhikode the other day. Jithin, Arjun’s brother-in-law, said Manaf’s claim that Arjun was drawing a salary of Rs 75,000, is wrong. The family informed that some people are exploiting emotionally and that they are subjected to severe cyber-attacks.

Manaf also came forward responding to the family's allegations. He said that he has done nothing wrong and has not collected any funds in Arjun's name. Manaf responded that he does not understand why they are raising such allegations. 'What is wrong in seeing Arjun's family as my own? I don't understand the mistake I have committed. I consider Arjun's mother as my mother. Let them reject me. I will be with them when they need me. Is it wrong to start a YouTube channel? There are no differences of opinion. I have not become famous. His memories are still with me. Why crucifying me? What I have done will remain,' clarified Manaf.

Malpe also came forward responding to the allegations against him. He said that his service is not for money. ‘Case against me is false propaganda. Not for any controversy on Shirur search issue. The money obtained from YouTube is for the ambulance services.
