THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Only four days left for the lottery draw. This year's Thiruvonam bumper sales have crossed 63 lakh. All the tickets printed and delivered to the market received a strong response in society. A total of 70 lakh tickets was issued by the lottery department for sale. Only about seven lakh tickets are left in the market at present. With just four days left for the draw, the department is confident that the entire tickets will be sold out.

Record sales are happening for lottery tickets with the first prize of Rs 25 crore, the second prize of Rs 1 crore each for 20 persons, Rs 50 lakh for the third prize, Rs 5 lakh and Rs 2 lakh for the fourth and fifth prizes respectively and Rs 500 as the final prize.

On a district basis, Palakkad district is leading in sales this time as well. 1176990 tickets, including those from sub-offices, have already been sold here. Thiruvananthapuram has sold 824140 tickets and Thrissur has sold 768160 tickets. The sale is progressing at such a rate that the remaining tickets in other districts will be sold today and tomorrow.

Less than one lakh tickets are yet to be sold in Thiruvananthapuram district. Only 23,000 tickets are left in Kollam district. Only 12,000 tickets are available in the market in Pathanamthitta. There are 23,000 tickets left in Kottayam and 15,000 in Alappuzha. In other districts too, ticket sales have been taken up by the people in a strong manner.

The department has intensified an awareness campaign stating that the sale of the state lottery is only in Kerala and that only paper lottery is being sold. The department is going ahead with an awareness campaign against fake lotteries in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu along with Hindi.
