THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of widespread rain in the state. Orange alert has been declared in Idukki, Malappuram and Wayanad. Yellow alert has been declared in seven districts. Yellow alert has been declared in Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kannur, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Kasaragod districts.
According to the Central Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad, strong winds with a speed of less than 40 km per hour and light rain at isolated places in other districts.

-People living in areas prone to landslides and flash floods should move to safer places as per the instructions of the authorities. Residents living in river banks and downstream areas of dams should anticipate the danger and evacuate as per the instructions of the authorities.
-People living in disaster prone areas must ensure that camps are opened in their area and move there during the day. For this, local body and revenue authorities can be contacted.
-Due to the possibility of strong winds, people living in unsealed houses and those living in houses with weak roofs should be especially careful. Those who see danger should contact the authorities and evacuate to safe places as a safety precaution.
