THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Nilambur MLA P V Anvar will be allotted a new seat inside the legislative chamber as the assembly session convenes on Monday. Anvar will have his seat next to Muslim League MLA Najeeb Kanthapuram. Another seat next to Anvar will be left vacant.

Parliamentary Party leader TP Ramakrishnan had written to the Speaker requesting Anvar be excluded from the block allotted to the ruling party MLAs. The parliamentary party has the right to propose in which row seats should be allotted to the members of each party. Independents cannot claim the seat of their choice. The MLA will have to sit in the seat allocated by the speaker. The ruling party and opposition MLAs are given priority in determining the row of seats inside the assembly.
