murder

ALAPPUZHA: A suspicious death, where a man died after falling into the aquarium inside his house, has been confirmed as a murder. Police have arrested two people in connection with the incident. The arrested persons are Alakkunnu native Kunjumon (57) and Aryad South native Navas (52). The deceased is Thondankulangara native Kabeer (52).

Kabeer lived alone in his house. On October 5 evening, Kabeer and the accused had drinks together at his home. Meanwhile, a dispute arose over the Rs 2000 advance received by the accused to sell Kabeer's bike. The two accused then collectively assaulted Kabeer and pushed him, which caused him to fall into the nearby aquarium. He sustained a serious injury and started bleeding heavily. Following this, the accused called the police and informed them that Kabeer sustained an injury after accidentally falling into the aquarium. Although the accused rushed Kabeer to the General Hospital, his life could not be saved.

Police initially registered a case of unnatural death and handed over the body to the relatives after the post-mortem. However, following suspicions raised by local residents, Kunjumon and Navas were taken into custody and questioned by a team led by North CI S.Sajikumar. During interrogation, it was revealed that the death was a murder.
