NEW DELHI: As the counting of votes in the assembly elections progressed, the Congress initially increased its lead in Haryana, but then it decreased. Congress workers, who had already started celebrating, are now disappointed. In Jammu and Kashmir, a close fight is going on between the BJP and the National Conference. The National Conference currently has a lead of 51 seats in Jammu and Kashmir. BJP has lead in 32 seats. The fact that the BJP is leading in many places gives them comfort in the valley. Counting of votes started at 8 am. It will be completed by noon. There are 90 member Assemblies in both places. Polling was held in one phase in Haryana and in three phases in Jammu and Kashmir.
