KASARAGOD: Sachitha Rai of Belthakallu, a teacher and former DYFI leader, is absconding after a case was registered on the complaint that she scammed a lady of more than Rs 15 lakh by promising her a job in the CPCRI. The Kumbala police registered the case on the complaint of Nishmita Shetty (24) of Pathakkal House in Kidur, Kasaragod.
Sachitha Rai is a teacher at ALP School in Badur. She has also served as a DYFI block committee member and Balasangham district committee member. Nishmita Shetty has alleged that she was scammed of Rs 15,05,796 in multiple instalments between May 31, 2023 and August 25, 2023. The police have not received the documents of the money that was transferred through the bank. It is learned that action, including arrest, will be initiated only after receiving these documents.
There are indications that the woman has reached Ernakulam with her baby. She is trying to approach the high court seeking anticipatory bail. She has been living in Kozhikode since her marriage.
GST on bribe
Sachita Rai received money+GST from Nishmita, who was offered the job. CPM Kumbala area secretary CA Subair said that Sachita Rai has been expelled from the primary membership for her anti-party activities. Sachitha Rai is a member of the Belthakallu branch. It is suspected that Sachitha Rai has extorted money from several people by promising them jobs and that the fraud gang has links with local leaders of the ruling party in Karnataka. "The news coming out in connection with the party is factually incorrect and has nothing to do with reality. Exemplary action should be taken against all the guilty people," demanded the CPM Kumbala area committee.
