PEERMADE: The glass bridge at Kolahalamedu in Vagamon resumed operations yesterday. Over 600 visitors arrived to walk on the bridge on the first day. The 40-foot-long and 150-foot-high cantilever glass bridge was reopened under favourable weather conditions. During the rainy season, the Tourism Department Director had directed to close the bridge citing safety reasons. Following this, the operation of the glass bridge was stopped from June 1.

The bridge has been reopened after ensuring strict adherence to the recommendations of the interim report of the study conducted by the Department of Civil Engineering, NIT, Kozhikode. Only 15 people are allowed on the bridge at a time. Entry will not be permitted during adverse weather conditions such as heavy rain or strong winds. Visitors can access the bridge from 9 AM to 5:30 PM, and the ticket price is Rs 250 per person.
